Inauguration of the Automobility Incubator in Bissen (LU)
The Automobility Incubator at the Automobility Campus in Bissen, Luxembourg, was officially inaugurated on December 3. Designed to strengthen Luxembourg’s position as a hub for automotive innovation and intelligent mobility, the incubator provides state-of-the-art facilities and support for start-ups, scale-ups, SMEs, and international companies in the sector.
Completed in November 2024, the incubator features 2,100 m² of office space, 400 m² of R&D labs and workshops, and a multi-purpose event hall, along with spaces for collaboration and networking. BCLD-member Drees & Sommer was involved in the project by carrying out the preliminary design studies and consultancy services. Managed by Technoport, the incubator offers tailored support for companies, including access to professional networks, technical infrastructure, and coaching.
The incubator is part of the 14-hectare Automobility Campus, which houses companies such as IEE, the first resident since 2019, and Goodyear, which plans to relocate part of its Luxembourg-based teams to the site. California-based Pony.ai and Luxembourg firms Voltcore and Right Energy are expected to join the incubator in the first half of 2025. The campus also includes facilities like Luxembourg’s first eco-circular-designed parking lot, inaugurated in September 2024, and space for additional businesses to establish operations.
The incubator aims to drive collaboration between companies, research organizations, and public institutions. It benefits from partnerships with Luxinnovation, the University of Luxembourg, and LIST to enhance research, attract top talent, and develop innovative solutions. With its strategic location and dynamic ecosystem, the Automobility Incubator is set to play a crucial role in advancing Luxembourg’s leadership in sustainable and smart mobility.
